The Post is your fishing hotel in Nauders. We have been the number 1 for fishing and angling for many years now. Experience the captivating atmosphere, clear gushing streams and picturesque mountain lake here with us in the Reschen region and spend an angling holiday with authentic and natural flair. As a guest in our fishing hotel, you can expect to hook your "best catch" in two picturesque waters in a high-alpine setting.
The stream "Stillerbach"
The Stillebach stretches from the Italian border to the fortification of Nauders, where it thunderously plunges into the Inn gorge with great intensity. The entire body of water offers sporty fly fishers and passionate hobby fishers virtually endless possibilities, experience angling in its purest form. You'll encounter a good population of brown and rainbow trout in the Stillebach. Speckled trout also frolic around the crystal clear alpine water.
The river "Inn"
The Inn is approx. 5 km long and devides Austria and Swizerland. The mountain river offers rainbow and brook trout as well as grayling. In some parts the border only allowes fishing on the Austrian side of the river. Please be aware oft he possible swell. The wild Schergenstream adds to the experiece and is an approx. 4 km long inlet. The descent to the Inn is not only good for fishing, it is worth visiting for non-fishing persons as well. The old fort „Altfinstermünz“ is the place to visit right by the Inn connecting the two countries (in case the fish won’t bite).
The lake "Grünsee"
The Grünsee Lake is idyllically located in the midst of a gently aromatic larch and spruce forest at 1837 meters above sea level. It is approx. 1.5 ha in size and despite its high altitude, pike, trout, carp, tench and roach can be found doing their rounds there. You can conveniently reach this natural jewel by car or join your angling excursion with a beautiful hike, which will also captivate non-fishers.
The Haidersee is in South Tyrol in the upper Vinschgau on 1.450m, it is surrounded by majestic mountains and right by the village St. Valentin a.d.H. The lake is known for its richness of fish, its setting and it is one of the most beautiful and natural lakes in the whole of the alps. Its surface is 89 ha, and it is up to 15 m deep. In the lake you can catch trout, char, luce, whitefish and perch. Fishing season at the Haidersee starts by the end of April already.
